Iraqi Konfused Kid Happy Eid bonuses

Happy Eid everyone, here is a tribute for the four friends who were killed in a roadside explosion week before their graduation, I talked about them in the 6/11 post. RIP.

Shabab mithil el worood God help their families.
And people still defend the war.

Where did you get this American accent from??? Maybe too much metallica??
or Maybe da'tit3ea8al?? in any case your voice and language is quite impressive, and I wont's be surprised if the BBC radio hire you soon.
happy Eid to u and to your family Kid.

This is video beautiful and very touching. They look so warm-hearted, humorous and full of life.
My deepest condolences.

Is there a chance to get the song somewhere?

Thank you for putting that video together and sharing it with the world. I'll do my part to try to get your message out; people need to know what is happening and your personal story will have a far larger impact than a news article disclosing cold hard numbers that don't carry a human face.

Your English is not only excellent in writing, but spoken as well. Again, I can't thank you enough for speaking out. Please keep doing so.

You did a very good job on the video, Kid. It was very moving.

Yeeees, you do have kind of an American accent. :)

AK, you once mentioned to me in one of your emails, how you have a darker side, there is no way in hell, after watching the tribute youve put together, I believe that statement. You are just amazing. You made me cry, cry so much, even tho I never met your friends...Allah yir7amhum. What you did is really great AK....Thanx for sharing that with us.

As for your BBC interview, well done. I hope many people can hear our voices loud and clear...

Take care AK...

Your tribute was very moving. To see them as they were. Real people. To see them laughing and joking and having a future. Then to know they died. Made me very sad. My heart goes out to their families and loved ones and friends. And to all the victims of this bloody dirty war.

Great work, Kid, God bless their beautiful souls.

Thank you for putting this out. Keep the great work

Kid
once more you put to shame those older and more powerful, a touching tribute to your friends, thank you for showing the faces and the lives behind the statistics, my chest aches watching it, I cannot imagine how difficult it must have been for you to put it together.

I know becaus I have never even been able to speak about my best friend who was killed with her mother in an explosion in Baghdad. Allah yir7am kul il 3iraqyeen, and help all of the families and friends who are left behind.

annie said...

ah kid, you made me cry.

Happy Eid. what a beautiful thing you have dome showing us into your heart and the heart of your friends. thank you.

i am so impressed w/your voice and words.more than anything you make iraqis very alive for me, even before today, but hearing your voice and seeing your friends, it is really uncomparable for me. thank you. you are building a bridge over impossible distance. someday, i very much hope to meet you in person. until then , thank you for these huge efforts you have made to communicate. i appreciate it more than you know.

A very moving tribute, Kid. It puts a face to the victims of this bloody war. I wish everyone could do something similar so we would not be treated as mere statistics.

I guess I need some kind of highspeed, since dialup brings it to me in bits and pieces. But even so, thanks for showing us a little out of your life and the lives of your friends. May God keep them.

AYS said...

It's really touching, I replayed it many times, I felt like I know them. I remembered my friend, Alaa, who was killed 2 years ago.
a friend of mine was here at my flat, he could not finish watching it, he asked me to stop it.

Lynnette In Minnesota said...

Jon,

You can try the library if you're not connected at work. They usually have the high speed connections.

Hi Kid!

It was great to hear your voice AGAIN... I hope one day we meet up again...

For some reason, I couldn't see or download the video :(

I used both Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers but still couldn't see it.

Anonymous said...

Hi Kid, why you think this post has about 20 comments till now while the other one about Lancet Study got like 200?

I guess we both know.

ahmed said...

zeyad,

I will upload it soon and have you link to it MP3.

You can listen to it in RAM if you want from 6rbwow.com, just go to Hussein al-Jismi under UAE singers from the sidebar.

Song's name is 'Fukadtak'.

My connection is too slow to dowload it. But my condolences to you. I wish things were not like they are.

god what a stupid first comment! hello.

Lynnette In Minnesota said...

Miraj and Magda,

Sometimes you need to look under the surface of things to get a true picture.

The content of the prior two comments sections is not limited to one time only commentors. For instance Annie is about 14% of one and 21% of the other. And when people are arguing they tend to never shut up until they have exhausted themselves.

annie said...

miraj, i certainly don't think it is a lack of interest that this thread has less comments. i imagine it is easier to address the study itself than the individual impact of so moving a video. sometimes things can go unspoken and do.

the other thread seemed to attract/inspire those that tried to discredit the survey and in effect discredit those bloggers who responded to it.

And when people are arguing they tend to never shut up until they have exhausted themselves.

i'm certainly not exhausted, i think we pretty much decimated the newspeak from the genocidal deniers, but it took awhile.

kid, i think this is by far you most moving post. how could it not be. thank you again for opening your heart and sharing what's inside. i know your video speaks to the loss of thousands.

Tommi L. Godwin said...

Kid,

I'm a regular reader, and also a soldier who once involuntarily deployed to Iraq. I have dear friends still in the area and dear friends now resting in the peace this horrible world would not afford them.

Thank you for assembling and posting the tribute. It brought tears to my eyes. This war must end now.

May you and your loved ones find peace,

T.G.

"Hi Kid, why you think this post has about 20 comments till now while the other one about Lancet Study got like 200?"

Dearest Miraj, for me personally when I get very sad I have extreme difficulties saying anything. I know it’s a bad habit because people who do not know me might think I don’t care. When the fact is I do care so much but can not put it into words. I just want to : ( and nothing more comes out. I am sure there are alot of people who feel as I do and therefore may not write a comment or alteast not right a way.

I saw this video just now and Dear Kid I am so sorry that this is how things have turned out in Iraq. I love what you have done for your friends and I hate that this war have taken them away from their families and you. Iraq has had a huge loss. Thank you for sharing your love for them with us, thank you so much.

: (

gah i alway forget there is a blogger with my first name.

i agree with the other nadia. it's a situation where there are really no words for it and you just have no idea what to add on. so i just post something i think is beautiful and positive, like that song, because i cannot offer much.

Dancewater said...

That was so sad.

I totally agree with you Nadia. I have the same problem when I feel there is not enough words to express my sadness, however I realized this pattern not only here on kid's site but on my own blog and once on Sunshine's. She once said that one of the soldiers was rude to her grandfather and suddenly Americans started writing apologizing for their soldier's behavior which is a positive point but at the same time it seems no one cares about humans being lost or killed in this mess rather caring for an ill behavior.

Magda, we understand each other.

i wrote a very long esponse to this but cannot post my words, not here for this incredible rememberence.

i care very very much. in an unspeakable way.

the fact is a lot of people are interested in iraq for their own partisan politics. so people on the left are going to talk about abu ghraib and haditha as proof that the war is terrible, people on the right are going to talk about al qaeda and sadr for proof that iraqis hate freedom and brought it upon themselves and there was nothing the US could have done because they really tried hard to bring democracy and liberty to the place.
their hearts selectively bleed.

i do think that there are people that really care though, this breaks my heart. they just don't know what to say. besides that, if you made a post about your mother dying, would you really want a bunch of americans and europeans having a 300 post argument about the war in response? i think that would be pretty insensitive and crappy.

i really am very sorry, though.

also i don't know what's going on with the layout of this page but it always slows my computer down.

Hello Kid,

I have tried several times to download the video of your friends, but my slow connection just wont allow it. Still, I would like to say that I am very sorry for the loss of your friends. I know what it is like to lose friends too, and in some ways, you never fully recover. I wish you and their families peace.

miraj, thank you for your kind words. really, it is not out of the goodness of my heart i am here, it is because i live w/this horror during my moments, hours, days stretching into years now. it feels very personal to me. i know when i come here i am w/hearts and minds that not only share my pain but undeniably feel it more than me, so we are bound together and i am not alone w/my grief.

it is also a way for me to speak directly to the evil ones, because they monitor these sites. i want them to know my eyes and ears are open and i am not alone, we know who they are and we know they live in lies and deceit and the blood is on their hands.

there was nothing the US could have done because they really tried hard to bring democracy and liberty to the place.
their hearts selectively bleed.

there are millions of americans that know this is not true nadia n, tho i realize you may not be one of them i seriously doubt anyone w/a smidgen of brains could be so cluelss at this point. the people who planned this devestation care nothing about who dies so long as they get what they want , and they care nothing for democracy. if they did, they never would have imposed a constitution that was bad for iraqis and guarenteed to cause bitterness , stife, and bloodshed. they also wouldn't have built the largest embassy in the world. they clearly have no intention of ever leaving.

sorry, i just couldn't let that pass.

annie said...

sorry if i came on too strong nadia n.
my ears just bristle when i hear that stuff about liberation etc.

you are a new name, i was just protecting reality. thank you for enlightening me to your sarcasm, i won't forget you.

2 nadias, how nice.

annie said...

hmm, how bizarre. nadia n, my response to you ended up above yours in the thread!

life ;)

Anonymous said...

oh i realize that's definitely true, i was being sarcastic. especially now in north america i can tell people are getting the slightest idea how bad things really are. but there definitely are people that are still being stubborn, and they are the last brick wall.

and it's shitty to say, but i expect whenever the troops are pulled out (and the war "ends" for america britain at least) comments in places like this are going to go way down.

i was against this from the start, the idea literally made me sick and i was sure nothing good would come of it, unfortunately my expectations were surpassed. so no need to tell me.
